The Battle of Saratoga ( Freeman’s Farm )

The battle of Saratoga took place in Saratoga Country,New York at Freeman’s Farm on Friday September 19,1777.The Great Britain forces had 7200 people in total but by the end of the battle they had 140 people killed,370 wounded,and 390 people captured. The colonial forces had 9000 people total with 60 killed,260 wounded, and 0 captured.The Britain commander was General John Burgoyne, and Colonial forces had more than one commander they were,Benedict Arnold, Daniel Morgan, and Horatio Gates.The real battle was about 4 miles from Saratoga. The conflict lasted until sunset.The British remained masters of the field. But the spirit of the Americans were greatly raised by having withstood the best regular troops of the English army.
